چکیده

The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Compact Imaging Spectrometer for (CRISM) covers the spectral range from 0.362 to 3.92 ?m with a midafternoon local solar time data acquisition. For equatorial midlatitudes, depending on season and surface materials, wavelengths longer than ?2.65 exhibit radiances sensor that include sunlight thermal-emission related terms. We developed radiative transfer based neural network approach model both emitted terms in which kinetic temperatures are retrieved each image pixel, together single scattering albedo spectra, over full CRISM wavelength range. applied method along-track oversampled scene FRT00021C92 Glen Torridon within Gale Crater, where Curiosity rover traversed acquired remote sensing in-situ data. Synergistic analysis of orbital rover-based data, coupled laboratory analyses ferric-rich smectites, provide self-consistent set results presence desiccated nontronite associated Murray formation mudstones exposed as periodic bedrock ridges located just south Vera Rubin ridge. nature is consistent Curiosity's CheMin drill samples indicate an abundance having collapsed structure resulting loss interlayer H2O.

Mars atmosphere. Mars methane detection and variability at Gale crater.

Reports of plumes or patches of methane in the martian atmosphere that vary over monthly time scales have defied explanation to date. From in situ measurements made over a 20-month period by the tunable laser spectrometer of the Sample Analysis at Mars instrument suite on Curiosity at Gale crater, we report detection of background levels of atmospheric methane of mean value 0.69 ± 0.25 parts pe...

Integrating CRISM and TES hyperspectral data to characterize a halloysite-bearing deposit in Kashira crater, Mars

We present morphologic observations and spectral modeling results of a large, kaolin-group mineral-bearing deposit within Kashira crater in the southern highlands of Mars. We employ both non-linear unmixing of Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) visible to near-infrared (VNIR) reflectance data and linear unmixing of Thermal Emission Spectrometer (TES) thermal infrared (...

Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Radio Science Gravity Investigation

[1] The objectives of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Radio Science Gravity Investigation are to improve knowledge of the static structure and characterize the temporal variability of the Martian gravitational field relevant to the planet’s internal dynamics, the structure and dynamics of the atmosphere, and the orbital evolution of spacecraft at Mars. The investigation will utilize range...

Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and Opportunity observations of the Burns formation: Crater hopping at Meridiani Planum

Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars hyperspectral (1.0–2.65μm) along-track oversampled observations covering Victoria, Santa Maria, Endeavour, and Ada craters were processed to 6m/pixel and used in combination with Opportunity observations to detect and map hydrated Mg and Ca sulfate minerals in the Burns formation. The strongest spectral absorption features were found to be as...
